Private and Semi-Private Swim Lessons

Registration for the January Group Swim Session is currently ongoing. Registration can be completed in person at either the Crystal Lake or Huntley facilities, by phone at (815) 444-2900, or by internet.
- Swim Level Evaluations: Not sure which swim level your child should be in? Let our team of WSI Certified instructors make qualified recommendations for an appropriate level. We will be testing for skill levels 1-6, ages 5 and up. Each swim test will be approximately 15 minutes. Call (815) 444-2900 to schedule an evaluation.
- Policies: Make-ups or credits are not available should a class be missed for any reason. Confirmation calls will not be made. Cancellations prior to the start of class will incur 25% cancellation fee unless a doctors note is received. Class transfers that are made by the participant in the week prior to
lessons will incur a $10 transfer fee per child. Registrations will not be accepted after 2 weeks into a session.
- Centegra Health Bridge Members: You must have a valid email address on your membership account to make online purchases for swim lessons. If you do not have a valid email address on your account, please contact us at (815) 444-2900 and we will update your membership account for you. A username and password will be sent to your email address and enable you to register for classes. WHEN REGISTERING a child, please be sure to use the child's name when enrolling them in a class.

Parent Tot A Swim Lesson This level is best suited for infants and toddlers not yet walking. Parent and child together develop comfort with water in a safe and fun environment. Explore and learn how to move through the water using games, songs and repetition. This class will focus on safety and proper holding of young children in the water. Minimum age 6 months. Parent Tot B Swim Lesson This class is best suited for toddlers who are already walking but not yet ready to separate from caregiver. Usual age is 15 - 36 months. You will learn how to support your child in the basics of swim skills such as floats and supported glides. The basis of this class will be taught through games, songs and repetitive learning. The child will be taught basic safety around the water, how and when to jump into a pool and lifejacket safety. Register for Parent Tot B (Crystal Lake) Register for Parent Tot B (Huntley)
Preswim 1 (7 week program) Designed for children ages 24-36 months. For the child who is ready to "Do it by myself", but may have issues seperating from caregiver. Child must be able towalk on their own. We will work on water entry and comfort in the water through games and songs. If needed, arrangements can be made to allow the caregiver into the water with the child and transistioned out during the first 3 classes. Please come prepared for this at the first class. Preswim 2 (7 week program) For the child who is not hesitant to enter the water. We will work on getting our faces wet, basic breathing skills, and floating on front and back with assistance. Games and songs are used as teaching tools. Repetition is key in this level. Level 1 Beginner (7 week program) For children 3 and up. For children who can go under water, be in a group, and follow simple instructions. We will begin to introduce floating without assistance on their front and back, kicking, and simple arm motions. The children will learn proper water entry and exit skills through games and songs. Level 1 Advanced (7 week program) For children age 5 and up. For the child who works well within a group and listens. Children will learn to float on their front and back without assistance. Level 2 Beginner (7 week program) For childer age 5 and older. We will work on gliding, kicking and arm motions simultaneously. Children will learn different kinds of kicking and introduction to rotary breathing. Please note that due to the large number of children at our Huntley facility who are Level 2 Beginners, we offer seperate classes for children who are 3-4 years old and children who are 5 years and older. Level 2 Advanced (7 week program) For children age 5 and older. Swimmer must be able to swim 15 feet with proper technique of front and back crawl. The children will begin to swim for longer distances on front and back with rotary breathing. Deep water practice is essntial. Level 3 (7 week program) Stroke development. We will begin to introduce new strokes, the children will learn back crawl, butterfly kick and body motion. We will review the strokes. Level 4 (7 week program) Advance Stroke Introduction. Front and Back crawl should be mastered before entering this level. The children will be learning breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke body position and butterfly. Register for Level 4 (Crystal Lake) Register for Level 4 (Huntley)
Level 5 (7 week program) Stroke Refinement. We are learning flip turns, sidestroke, survival swimming, and surface dives. We will build on endurance and introduce students to standard swim drills and longer swimming distances. Register for Level 5 (Crystal Lake) Register for Level 5 (Huntley)
Level 6 (7 week program) In this level, you will have the opportunity to try three brand new things! Each session we will rotate the focus of the class between these topics. (1) Personal Water Safety: Learn how to inflate clothes and float. Learn about boat safety. (2) Fitness Swimmer: Swimming as an exercise. Learn to calculate your heart rate and make your strokes easier. (3) Lifeguard readiness: Let's learn reaching, throwing and wading assists. Swim Team Prep Do you want to improve your swimming skills? Then take advantage of our Swim Team Prep classes. You'll work on competitive strokes, dives, starts, turns and finishes. Perfect for anyone who is interested in being on a swim team or wants to brush up on their swimming skills. Register for Swim Team Prep (Huntley)
Fitness Swimming for Kids An excellent opportunity for swimmers who have comleted Red Cross Level 3 to work on thier lap swimming skills. Participant MUST be able to swim 25 yards continuously. Endurance in addition to circle swimming, breathing techniques, flip turns and monitoring heart rates will be the main focus of the course. Register for Fitness Swimming (Crystal Lake)
Pool PE for Home Schooled Children A program designed to allow the home school child to learn swimming skills as well as have the opportunity to participate in water fitness activities. The first 30 minutes will focus on structured swim skills based on your child's current abilities. Followed by 10 minutes of guided play including relays, group games, songs, water safety tips and interactive activities to stimulate both their physical and intellectual sides.
